Marrakech Airshow 2026: three agreements in the aeronautics sector, Minister Ryad Mezzour hails industrial sovereignty

The Ministry of Industry and Trade signed several memoranda of understanding on Thursday in Marrakech with pioneering global players in aviation. This took place on the sidelines of the 8th edition of the Marrakech Airshow, held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. These agreements serve to reinforce the momentum behind the development of a more competitive, integrated and internationally oriented national aeronautics industry.

In practical terms, a protocol with APS Coating provides for a surface treatment unit for aeronautical parts with an investment of 18 million euros and 120 direct jobs. Another with MATIS aims to develop a manufacturing unit for aeronautical electrical wiring, with an investment of 16.457 million dollars and 750 direct jobs. In addition, a tripartite agreement with AMDIE and MECAPOLE covers the machining of parts for aircraft and helicopters, with an investment of 10 million euros and 80 direct jobs.

Speaking to the press, Minister Ryad Mezzour stated that these agreements reflect the Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI through the launch of flagship projects in aircraft assembly and aeronautical structures. He stressed that these projects would help advance the sector's level of development and strengthen national skills.

The agreements signed also cover innovation, through partnerships with leading global players to develop new technologies and draw on the most advanced expertise. The minister insisted that these partnerships are built on Moroccan innovation.

In his view, this momentum is a strong indicator of the strengthening of industrial sovereignty and bears witness to the level of maturity reached by Moroccan innovation as well as the consolidation of national industry. The aeronautics sector currently employs some 25,000 skilled professionals, with annual growth of more than 10%, confirming an industrial ecosystem recognised worldwide.
