The reform of Morocco's commonhold law introduces significant changes for MRE owners of residential properties. The main developments include: a mandatory requirement for a professional managing agent in buildings with more than 20 units, the ability to participate in general meetings via video conference, legally recognised remote voting, strengthened financial transparency (certified annual accounts), and the establishment of a mandatory reserve fund for major works. For MRE owners, this represents a considerable step forward: no longer will decisions be taken at meetings held in your absence. You can now vote and challenge decisions remotely. Outstanding service charges may also be subject to an expedited debt recovery procedure.
