Dacia delivered the millionth Sandero in France since its 2008 launch. The model is the most purchased car by French individuals for ten years. The Renault plant in Tangier, producing the Sandero since 2013, output 222,257 units in 2025. Moroccan production exceeds 394,000 vehicles in 2025, with 82% exported.

The Sandero passes the one‑million sales mark in France

Dacia has confirmed the delivery of the millionth Sandero registered in France, across all versions since its 2008 launch. The model has established itself as the car most purchased by French private buyers over the past ten years, a pace the manufacturer monitors closely from its headquarters.

The Renault plant in Tangier keeps up the pace. Opened in 2012, the complex has been producing the Sandero since 2013 and turned out 222,257 units in 2025 alone. The site covers 300 hectares and employs more than 6,000 people to run the assembly lines.

The momentum extends beyond the Tangier site alone. Combined with the Somaca plant in Casablanca, Moroccan production exceeded 394,000 vehicles in 2025, accounting for nearly one in six vehicles sold by Renault Group worldwide. An integration that carries significant weight in the group’s industrial setup.

This production is largely export‑oriented. 82 % of vehicles manufactured in Tangier and Casablanca head for export to 63 destinations, led by France, Spain, Italy and Germany. To handle these flows, two railway lines run directly into the Tangier plant and provide several daily rotations to the Tanger Med terminal.

The supplier ecosystem follows the same tempo. Renault counts 87 first‑tier suppliers in its Moroccan operation, some of which are located in the industrial zones near Tanger Med, completing a short logistics chain between the workshop and the ship.
