Almeria-Nador ferry: a route served by several companies, including GNV

One route, several companies

The Almería (Andalusia) - Nador (Oriental region) crossing is not run by a single company, and the official pages we read do not describe it as a new route for 2026.

• •GNV (Grandi Navi Veloci) presents this route on its website gnv.it. Its Almería port page states that from the port of Almería GNV operates maritime connections to Morocco, and that "the main route is Almería - Nador". The route page gives a sailing time "ranging from 7 to 10 hours" (9 hours direct in the fare box), states that times and duration may change, and that frequencies vary with the season and operational needs. It mentions neither an opening date nor the word "new", and gives no 2026 sailing calendar.
• •Baleària states on its Almería-Nador page that it serves this route, with up to three departures a week and an announced duration of 7 h 25 (page read on 21 October 2026).

The durations and frequencies above are those published by each company. They are not identical from one company to another and may change. The times and conditions of each crossing are a matter for the company concerned.

What the earlier version stated without a source

An earlier version of this article presented GNV as inaugurating the route in 2026, with a 7 to 8 hour crossing, two to three departures a week, ticket sales opening in March 2026 and a road-time comparison from Catalonia. None of this was found on the official pages we read. It has been removed.

GNV's other Morocco routes

GNV's "Morocco" page lists eight routes: Civitavecchia-Tangier, Genoa-Tangier, Sète-Tangier, Nador-Sète, Barcelona-Tangier, Barcelona-Nador, Genoa-Barcelona and Almería-Nador. The claim that Almería-Nador is "the group's second Moroccan service" is therefore incorrect.

For Sète-Tangier, GNV states a sea passage "between 39 and 48 hours, depending on the type of ship used and the weather and sea conditions". The 34-hour duration previously given does not appear on the company's page.

Timetables, fares and booking conditions for each route are published by the company concerned.
