Tourism: ONMT plans over 2.21 billion dirhams of investment in 2027

The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) is expected to invest more than 2.21 billion dirhams (MMDH) in 2027. The figure appears in the report on public establishments and companies, attached to the 2027 Finance Bill and published on the website of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Public Performance.

According to the report, the funds will go in particular towards developing new air links and strengthening partnerships with tour operators and airlines. They will also be used to accelerate digital transformation, diversify priority markets and roll out an integrated marketing strategy to boost the competitiveness of Morocco as a destination.

The document also looks back at 2025. ONMT continued promoting the destination under its "Light in Action" plan, which is aligned with the 2023-2026 tourism roadmap. Activities focused on the "Morocco, Land of Light" strategy, the diversification of target markets, digital marketing and the promotion of national destinations. Two campaigns were also run: "Morocco, Land of Football" for CAN 2025, and "Ntla9awfbladna", dedicated to domestic tourism.

In terms of results, Morocco recorded nearly 20 million arrivals at border crossings in 2025, up 14% on 2024. Travel receipts reached 138.1 MMDH (+21%). Overnight stays in classified accommodation exceeded 43.4 million, an increase of 9%.

On budget execution, ONMT made 1.83 MMDH of investments in 2025 against a planned envelope of 2.48 MMDH, a completion rate of 74%. By the end of the first half of 2026, 727 million dirhams had been invested, with a forecast closing figure of 2 MMDH. With its "From Strong to Stronger" strategy, the Office aims to contribute to the national target of 26 million tourists by 2030.
