Atlasarts : a three‑month residency in Paris for eight Moroccan artists

The Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the Cité internationale des arts and the French Institute of Morocco launch Atlasarts. This research and creation residency programme aims to encourage the mobility of Moroccan artists and to broaden their professional network internationally. Eight laureates will be selected for a three‑month stay in the French capital starting from January 2027.

The Cité internationale des arts, founded in 1965, is the world’s largest artistic residency. It simultaneously hosts more than 300 artists of all origins and generations. The Atlasarts laureates will benefit from an individual furnished studio‑apartment on the Marais site. The space includes a living and working area, a bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom and an internet connection.

A living allowance of €1,000 net per month will be paid for the entire duration of the residency. Professional support and networking with French and international cultural actors are also planned. The programme is open to artists of Moroccan nationality, with no age limit, who can demonstrate at least three years of professional practice or hold a diploma from an artistic training institute.

The disciplines covered span a wide spectrum: visual arts, digital arts, cinema, performing arts, music, performance, dramaturgy, directing, dance and choreography, and writing. Applications are open from 1 September to 15 October 2026. The jury will examine the files from 16 October for a minimum period of four weeks.

The results will be announced on 15 November 2026. The residencies will begin from January 2027 for a minimum duration of three months.

Operation Marhaba 2026 ended 15 September with 4,137,594 MRE welcomed (+1.8%). Flows handled without congestion, peaks of 80,000 arrivals and 87,000 departures. Reinforced measures: firm tickets, regulation zones, 1,134 social assistants, 236 medical staff, 26 welcome sites. 66,993 received humanitarian aid (admin, transport, medical). Notable incidents: coach accident (25 injured), 1,000 stranded at Algeciras, 25 vehicles blocked at Genoa, two port deaths.
