In Morocco, motorists discovered on Sunday 1 November that fuel prices had changed again. On the published price boards, a litre of diesel reaches about 16.90 dirhams, compared with 15.50 dirhams for petrol.
The increase took effect overnight from Saturday to Sunday, and its size depends on the petrol station. It ranges from 50 centimes to one dirham more per litre. The gaps between retailers are clear: at another station, regular diesel is displayed at 16.30 dirhams and regular petrol at 15.65 dirhams.
It is worth looking back a little to see how far prices have moved. At the start of July, diesel had fallen to around 12.61 dirhams at several stations in the city.

Between those two reference points, the gap comes to 214.50 dirhams. At the station displaying 16.30 dirhams a litre, the same full tank costs 815 dirhams.
