Khalid Hatimy takes the helm of the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries and Food Sovereignty

His Majesty King Mohammed VI appointed Khalid Hatimy to this strategic post on Friday. The new minister arrives with a profile that departs from the usual senior‑civil‑service mould.

In terms of education, he holds an Executive MBA in corporate strategy from Emory University in Atlanta, United States. An academic background geared towards management and a global outlook.

His professional career spans more than thirty years in the private sector. He has headed companies in industry, agri‑food and agriculture, spending over ten years as chief executive of multinationals and leading groups. He knows the ministry inside out.

An MP from 2021 to 2026, he served on the Finance Committee. A dual role, combining field experience and legislative work, that sets him apart from purely technocratic profiles.
