The electronic proxy platform for the legislative elections opened on 24 August. Moroccans abroad can appoint a voter in Morocco until 22 September noon for the 23 September 2026 poll. The process runs online via elections.ma or listeselectorales.ma.

Online proxy voting for the legislative elections is now open

The electronic platform dedicated to voting proxies has been accessible since Monday 24 August. MRE voters have until 22 September at midday to complete the online procedure, before the legislative elections scheduled for 23 September 2026.

This mechanism allows any Moroccan voter residing outside the Kingdom and registered on the general electoral lists to appoint a person established in Morocco. The appointed voter must also be registered on the general electoral list of a commune or arrondissement of the Kingdom. The use of a proxy is governed by Organic Law No. 27.11 on the House of Representatives, which recognises the possibility for Moroccans established abroad to take part in the legislative elections through a voter present on national territory.

The procedure is carried out online on one of the two official portals: elections.ma or listeselectorales.ma. The voter residing abroad must follow several steps: enter their personal details, provide the details of the voter chosen to vote on their behalf, carefully verify the information entered, confirm its accuracy and attest that they have personally completed the proxy.

The proxy must then be sent to the appointed voter, by email or by post. On Wednesday 23 September, the latter must present themselves at the relevant polling station in order to exercise the right to vote on behalf of the principal, in accordance with the prescribed procedures.
