Official Marhaba 2026 calendar: June 5 to September 15. List of 9 European embarkation ports (Spain, France, Italy) and their connections to Tangier Med, Nador, Al Hoceima. Mohammed V Foundation sources.

The 2026 Marhaba Operation, 25th edition, is officially scheduled from June 5 to September 15, 2026 by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity. Here is the complete list of European embarkation ports and their connections to Morocco, plus the peak time slots to avoid.

European ports and 2026 routes

Spain, Algeciras (the most used)

  • Algeciras → Tangier Med: 9 daily departures in high season. Crossing 1h30. Carriers: FRS, AML, Balearia, Inter Shipping.
  • Algeciras → Tangier City (seasonal): MRE-reserved departures during Marhaba.

Spain, Tarifa

  • Tarifa → Tangier City: 6 daily departures. Crossing 1h. Carriers: FRS, Inter Shipping, Balearia. Pedestrians and light vehicles only (no trucks).

Spain, Almería

  • Almería → Nador: 4 daily departures, 6h crossing. Carriers: Trasmediterránea, Balearia, GNV.
  • Almería → Melilla: 2 daily departures, 6h. Carrier: Trasmediterránea.

Spain, Motril

  • Motril → Tangier Med: 1 daily departure, 4-5h crossing. Carrier: Trasmediterránea.
  • Motril → Nador: 1 seasonal daily departure, 6h. Carrier: Trasmediterránea.

France, Sète

  • Sète → Tangier Med: 1-2 weekly departures, 36-40h crossing. Carrier: GNV (Grandi Navi Veloci). Flagship route for mainland France MRE.
  • Sète → Nador: 1 weekly departure in July-August, 38-44h. Carrier: GNV.

France, Marseille

  • Marseille → Tangier Med: increased summer departures, 42-46h crossing. Carriers: La Méridionale (seasonal).

Italy, Genoa

  • Genoa → Tangier Med: 2-3 weekly departures, 48-52h crossing. Carrier: GNV. Used by MRE in Italy and Southern Germany.

Italy, Civitavecchia

  • Civitavecchia → Tangier Med: 1 weekly departure in summer, 52-56h. Carrier: GNV.

Mohammed V Foundation 2026 advice

  • Book from March for long crossings (Sète, Genoa), 100 % occupancy in July.
  • Arrive 3 h before boarding (reinforced EES checks on the EU side since April 10, 2026 for non-EU residence permit holders).
  • Cash ≤ 100,000 MAD per traveler on the Morocco side (Office des Changes, Instruction 01/2018), ≤ €10,000 on the EU side (Regulation 2018/1672).
  • Mandatory vehicle documents: registration, international insurance (green card or Moroccan border insurance), license valid for 5+ years.
